PeeWee Girls C, Girls Hockey, 2017-2018 (Mitchell Minor Hockey)

The Ace Country and Garden Pee Wee C team participated in the OWHA Provincials this weekend.  The girls were 2 wins and 1 lost in their pool play, placing them in second to advance to the quarter finals against Nepean Wildcats.

The Ace Country and Garden PeeWee C girls captured the gold medal tonight against Lucan.  Jaelyn Meinen found the net in the third period giving the girls a 1-0 edge.  Nicole Hahn with .05 seconds left in the game scored on an empty with help from Meg Schoonderwoerd.  Outstanding defensive play from all the girls and goaltending by Shawni DeJong led them to WOGHL league champs.  Congratulations girls! The team heads to Toronto April 6-8 to participate in Provincials. Good luck Meteors!

The Ace Country and Garden PeeWee C girls tied up their series with Lucan this morning for the WOGHL championship.  The girls pulled off a 2-0 victory over the Lucan Irish after being defeated 1-0 Wednesday night.  They play their final game in Mitchell tomorrow night at 7:45.  Go Meteors!!

The Ace Country & Garden PeeWee C girls victory tonight over the South Huron Sabres gave them the "green light" to go to the OWHA Provincials in April.  Setting the pace with a goal a period was Jaelyn Meinen scoring in the first and the second assisted by Nicole Hahn and Alexis Insley.  The Sabres found the net in the third bringing it to a 2-1 game.  Keeping the pace Insley tucked one in with 6 minutes left in the third, giving the Meteors a 3-1 lead. 

The Ace Country & Garden PeeWee C girls are one step closer to provincials after their win against St. Marys Rock last Friday night.  A deflected shot from Alexis Insley off one of the opponents was enough to give the girls a 1-0 victory.  Stellar defence and goaltending by Shawni DeJong contributed to another shut-out.  The girls play the Rock again on Wednesday night in Mitchell at 8:00.
