Novice Rep, U8 Boys, 2016-2017 (Mitchell Minor Hockey)

The McLaughlin Novice Rep Meteors finished the season with a one day tournament in Listowel.  The tournament consisted of six(6) teams with three(3) teams in each pool.  The Meteors would have the home town Cyclones and Wallace in their pool.  The Meteors would go on to beat both the Listowel and Wallace to play for the "A" championship.  The Meteors would face Central Perth for this title.  The Meteors would come up short in this game but take home the "runner-up" trophy.

The McLaughlin Novice Rep Meteors were looking for some home ice advantage against the Drayton Defenders on Sunday, March 5th, 2017 and got some from the noisy crowd. Mitchell facing elimination would need to play their best game and all the Meteor's would do just that.  Every player came out and put up an exceptional fight, but would eventually fall in overtime 6 to 5.

The McLaughlin Novice Rep Meteors Traveled to face Drayton Saturday, March 4, 2017 for their second game of the series.  This game would once again be a carbon copy of the first match-up as the Meteors would only be down 3-0 through two periods of strong play. However, the Meteors would collapse in the third period with 6 goals against.  Mitchell would add 4 of their own in the third but it wouldn't be enough as they would lose 9 to 4

The McLaughlin Wholesaling Novice Rep Meteors traveled to Drayton Wednesday, March 1st, 2017 for a 6:00pm game.  The Meteors having swept pool A would be taking on Drayton who also went undefeated in pool (B) with four straight wins.  The Meteors put up a tremendous fight but the wheels came off in the third period and they would lose the first game 9 to 2.

The McLaughlin Wholesaling Novice Rep Meteors traveled to Arthur Friday, February 24, 2017 for a 6:00pm game to try and close out the first round of the playoffs against the Vipers.  The Meteors would be successful and cruise to a 6 to 1 victory to take the first round in three straight games.
