Meteors Silence Thunder
On Saturday afternoon the Thompsons Atom AE Meteors would host the Zurich Thunder in WOAA round robin playoff action. The first two periods would see end to end action for the teams with back and forth scoring, each team battling to hold the lead. Zurich would strike first at the 5 minute mark of the first period, but Mitchell would answer back quickly with a goal scored by Kyle Mills and assisted by Noah Mann and James McCarthy. With a minute left in the period Zurich would take the lead again making it 2-1 at the end of the first.

The teams would continue to battle hard for the puck into the second period and Mitchell's Caleb Templeman would tie the game at two as he poked a shot past the Zurich goalie with assists going to Mills and Brayden Glauser. Again, Zurich would take the lead at the halfway point of the second period, but Templeman would answer again for the home team on an unassisted goal to tie the game at 3 heading into the third period.

Mitchell would take control and not look back in the third as Blake Redfern would make a pass to Glauser who would get past the Zurich defence to score from high in the slot. The Meteors would keep the pressure on Zurich with lots on shots on net and Jaxen Hartwig would add some insurance for the Meteors on a rebound shot. In the last minute of the game Zurich would pull their goalie and Glauser would make no mistake hitting the open net as he cleared the puck from Mitchell's end. The final score would be 6-3 for the home team after a hard fought game.

The Meteors hit the ice again Sunday against Listowel as their WOAA round robin action continues.
