Atom AE Meteors Win In Triple Overtime
The Thompsons Atom AE Meteors pounded the Arran-Elderslie goalie with 47 shots in a triple overtime game, but it would only take one perfect shot to win. The Meteors travelled to Paisley on Sunday in a must win situation to keep their season going and push the WOAA final series to a tie-breaking game three and they did not disappoint. Fans that made the trip were on the edge of their seats for three periods of no goal regulation play and another three periods of overtime hockey.

Mitchell dominated the game through regulation time with aggressive and strong play but the Ice Dogs goalie would prove hard to beat. The boys battled hard for control of the puck and worked hard as a team to keep the puck out of their end. Mitchell's goalie Brennen Vanderkuylen and his defensive squad of Logan Ruby, Evan O'Rourke, Lucas Roobroeck and Caleb Templeman stood tall and denied the Ice Dogs of many scoring chances with their solid checking.

In the first overtime period the Meteors would come close to scoring when Roobroeck took a breakaway shot on the Ice Dogs goalie. The Meteors would continue to force the play of the IceDogs with aggressive forechecking and would see several chances to end the game in the first two OT periods. With six minutes left on the clock in the third overtime period, James McCarthy would head up ice with the puck passing the puck over to centre ice, high in the slot where Jaxen Hartwig would tip the pass to Noah Mann and Mann would make a perfect top corner shot to score the winning goal.

The Meteors will have home ice advantage in the final game of the WOAA series which will take place on Saturday March 26th.
