Atom AE's Advance in OMHA Playdowns
The Thompsons Mitchell Atom AE's saved one of their best offensive performances for the clinching game in their OMHA quarter-final match-up against the Wingham Ironmen. The 6-2 victory late Sunday afternoon would give the locals a sweep in the six-point series.

The Meteors would come out strong in the opening period as they would direct many shots on visitors net. Throughout the game, Mitchell was going hard to the net to take advantage of any rebounds. James McCarthy would open the scoring mid-way through the first with a hard wrist shot from the slot that would beat the Wingham goalie high to the blocker side. However, the Ironmen would not give up as they would tie the score two minutes later. Mitchell would put on a strong push at the end of the period with two markers in the last minute, both by the hustling Caleb Templeman.

The Meteors would not look back the rest of the game as their strong forechecking would keep the puck in the Wingham end for much of the contest. When the puck did enter the Mitchell end, a strong team defensive effort would keep the puck out of their own net. The lead would be stretched to 5-1 after the second period with goals from the sticks of Brayden Glauser and Noah Mann.

Both teams would add a goal in the third. The Mitchell goal being scored by Ethan Meinen. Assists in the game went to Glauser, Mann, Templeman and Evan O'Rourke.

Jake Crowley would lead a great defensive effort as the Atom AE's now await their OMHA semi-final opponent.
