Meteors Open St. Marys Tourney With Win
The Thompsons Atom AE Meteors won a hard fought game against BCH to open their St. Marys AE tourney with a 1-0 win. The evenly matched teams played to a scoreless first period as each team battled to control the puck. In the second period Brayden Glauser put Mitchell on the board with a shorthanded rebound goal assisted by Kyle Mills.
The Meteors were able to defend their 1-0 lead and keep BCH off the scoreboard with strong defensive play in the third period. With two minutes left in the game, BCH would pull their goalie and put hard pressure on the Meteors defence. Goalie Brennen VanderKuylen would hold on for the shutout and would be awarded the player of the game.
