Wingham Ironmen Defeat Mitchell Meteors
In Atom AE action Sunday night in Monkton the Wingham Ironmen defeated the Thompson Mitchell Meteors by a score of 6-2.
The visiting Ironmen jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with both goals in the first four minutes of the game. The Meteors would bounce back within one goal thanks to a rebound marker from Ethan Meinen as Caleb Templeman contributed an assist on the goal mouth scramble. The two teams would exchange goals in the last two minutes of the frame with the help of a Noah Mann goal with assists from James McCarthy and Meinen, to leave the score 3-2 after one period.
That would be all the scoring for Mitchell for the remainder of the game as the Ironmen would get three more goals in the third period to push the final to 6-2.
The next game for the Meteors is next Saturday as the boys travel to Clinton to face the BCH Ice Dogs.
