Atom AE's Suffer Loss to Kincardine
The Thompsons Atom AE Meteors suffered a 5-1 loss to Kincardine on Sunday night in Mitchell. The Meteors came out flying in the first period and kept Kincardine's fast skating team in check with strong defensive play. Scoring opportunities were also hard to come by in the second period as the teams continued their evenly matched play.
Kincardine would find the net first with a goal late in the second period and would come on hard in the third period with two more goals before Mitchell could answer back. Meteor's Kyle Mills would poke in a goal for the home team in a scuffle for the puck in front of the Kindcardine goalie. Assists on the goal were given to Ethan Meinen and Caleb Templeman. Mitchell did not give up and had several more chances for goals in the third period but could not beat the Kincardine goalie. The Kinucks would find themselves on the end of two more goals thanks to a couple of bad bounces in front of the Mitchell net to round out the scoring.
The Meteors head back on the road for their next game Wednesday night in Zurich.
