AE Novices Tie 1 & Lose 1
Following a 10-2 loss to the Drayton Defenders on Decemeber 20th, the Dodge Caravan AE Novices came back to pull off a 2-2 tie against the Zurich Thunder when they played them on December 27th in Mitchell.
Zurich opened the day with two goals that came in the first period, that left Mitchell scoreless heading into the second. Then on a pass from Max Hannon, Ethan Jarmuth netted a goal at 5:41 in the second, to bring the Meteorers within one. Two minues later, Jarmuth dug the puck out from a scramble infront of the Zurich netminder, and Payton Wood tipped it in for the tying goal of the game. Despite further scoring opportunities in the third, the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
In the game against Drayton, Braedon Hoegy and Wade Campbell each played a strong game that resulted in goals, including a breakaway from centre ice by Hoegy in the loss.
Game action resumes this weekend, when the AE Novices face-off against the Lucan Irish to open up the Mitchell Hawks Tournament in front of their hometown crowd.
