Novice AE's Reach Semi-Finals At Collingwood Silver Stick Tournament
Congratulations goes to the Mitchell Dodge Caravan AE Novices, on reaching the semi-finals in the qualifying regional Silver Stick Tournament in Collingwood this past weekend.

The first game in the tournament for the Meteors on Friday, saw the Novices facing off against the St. Marys Rock.  In a game that saw Mitchell's defense taking control of the puck in our end, Ryan Klumper would open the scoring early in the first for the Meteors.  Ethan Jarmuth added the second goal of the game early in the third period when he picked up a loose puck at centre ice.  With just shy of 30 seconds remaining in the game, Wade Campbell picked up a pass from Max Hannon in the neutral zone where Campbell broke through the line of defense to net the final goal of the game.  Keagan Meinen held strong in net with a 3-0 shutout against the Rock.

In a very fast paced match-up, game two saw the Meteors meeting up the Ilderton Jets, in a nail biting 2-1 victory.  Mitchell would fire multiple shots on the Jets' net, however it wasn't until Wade Campbell on a breakaway, would split the Jets defensemen as he fired in the first goal of the game with 4:09 to go in the second.  However, a minute and half later, Ilderton would answer with one of their own to end the second period in a tie.  With only four minutes remaining, Payton Wood would pick up a loose puck in a scramble in front of the net, and fire in  the game winner over the goalie's shoulder.  Ilderton would try to retaliate in the last 45 seconds by going 6 on 5, however Keagan Meinen was outstanding between the pipes as the Jets made several attempts to sneak one in.

Saturday morning showcased one of the most exciting games of the tournament for the Meteors against Strathroy in a 4-2 victory .  The action packed match-up saw Strathroy going up by one going into the second.  Mitchell would tie it up when Max Hannon cleared the puck for a chance to shoot on net, but then from a scramble in-front saw Ethan Jarmuth dig the puck out, to slide it in. Strathroy then tied it up two minutes later, however Mitchell would retaliate when Hannon scored the Meteors second goal four minutes later, with the assists going to Jarmuth and Campbell.  Outstanding play from all the Meteors defense prevented Strathroy from adding anything further to the scoreboard.  Mitchell's go-ahead goal would be scored by Jarmuth from Payton Wood, and then an unassisted goal by Wade Campbell would seal the deal for the team.

Mitchell would go into Saturday's semi-final game undefeated, however the Lambeth Lancers would go on to play in the finals by defeating Mitchell 5-0.

Congratulations goes out to every single member of the Dodge Caravan AE Novices for giving everything they had in an outstanding display of team-work at the tournament.  Way to make us all proud boys!!
