Novice AE's Win!!!
The Dodge Caravan Novice AE's showcased another exciting display of teamwork to their fans, when they won 3-2 against the St. Marys Rock in exhibition play, this past Sunday in front of their home town crowd!

Mitchell came out firing in the first period, when with only twelve seconds in, Wade Campbell fired a shot from behind the net to Payton Wood who would tip one in for Mitchell's first goal of the game.  Later on in the period, another great scoring opportunity between Campbell and Wood would arise, but would be stopped short by the St. Mary's goal tender.  With lots of end-to-end action throughout the period, St. Marys tied the game with 1:52 remaining in the first.

The second period proved equally as exciting for the fans, when Max Hannon would fire one in with the assists going to Ethan Jarmuth, and Campbell.  Keagan Meinen made an impressive 5 hole save, to prevent St. Marys from adding another one on the score board.  Carrying the momentum forward, Hannon would again try to net one, from a pass from Ethan Jarmuth however, a great 5 hole save by the St. Marys goaltender kept the scoring at bay. Another scoring opportunity for the Meteors would come from Campbell but it was also shut down by the Rock, and the second period would end with Mitchell being up 2-1.

The action continued into the third, when Payton Wood added his second goal of the game off a rebound shot.  Jacob Dietrich would almost add to the score with an end-to-end breakaway, but the Rock's goalie held strong in net. Elijah Bender on defense, stopped a potential breakaway from St. Marys, helping to hold Mitchell's lead.  However, St. Marys would net one more with 4:57 remaining, bringing the score within one. In the last 45 seconds, St. Marys pulled their goalie, but great defensive play by Bradley Dearing prevented them from adding any more.

Following the amazing display of team work in their exciting 3-2 win, everyone should be proud of the way they played.  Congratulations on a great game boys!

The Novice AE's hope to continue their momentum forward, when they lace-up their skates in regular play against the Wallace Sabers next Saturday.
