Action Packed Win for Atom LL
Atom LL MCR Advanced Collison won against the Ingersoll Express Saturday afternoon in a very exciting game. Half way into the first period, Jason Mills received a pass from Andreas Harmer, for a pass that included some skillful stick handling. The last 5 seconds of the first period created some excitement when Austin Weir skated towards the net on a breakaway. His shot on net did not score, but Jack Steinbach picked up the rebounded, passed it to Keegan Hunt who scored with three seconds left.
In the second period, Ingersoll scored, making it 2-1 but Mitchell increased their lead by two more goals when Steinbach, once again, passed to Weir who scored the third goal, and Mills scoring the fourth goal, assisted by Logan Ruby. In the third period, the Meteors made Ingersoll's goalie work hard as many shots were taken on the net. Mitchell's goalie, Brennen Vanderkuylen, kept the excitement going when he saved Ingersoll's chance to score on a breakaway. They continued to fight for the puck and eventually scored, making it 4-2. Mitchell finished off the game with a goal by Sam Huettlin assisted by Andreas Harmer for a final score of 5-2.
