Atom LL tied for first in playoffs
A win for the Atom LL MCR Advanced collision team against the Lucknow Sepoys on Sunday, February 22  has them currently tied for first place in the playoffs. The game started out with a penalty for Mitchell yet the team held strong and was able to successfully play shorthanded. A few seconds later, Jason Mills scored an unassisted goal, making it 1-0.  Austin Weir made it 2-0 with an amazing sideways shot from the red goal line.

The second period saw strong defensive plays from Kyle Mills and Owen McKenzie.  Keegan Hunt had a great centering pass to Jack Steinbach but, unfortunately, the puck did not find its way into the net. With 21 seconds left in the second period, a fight for the puck in front of Lucknow's net ended in a goal for the Meteors scored by Basil Voros and assisted by Jason Mills bringing the score 3-0. Andreas Harmer intercepted a pass and was able to get one last shot on net before the end of the period.

In the third period, Kaeden Meinen had a good hustle to the puck to keep the action in Lucknow's end. Unfortunately, the Sepoys got the puck back to the other end and scored making it 3-1. Austin Weir scored his second goal of the night seconds after a faceoff in the Lucknow's end. It was an exciting last 2 seconds of the game when Andreas Harmer and Kyle Mills help set up Jason Mills for a breakaway goal making the final score 5-2.

The Meteors will face the the first place team, Blyth-Brussels, Saturday, March 7 in Mitchell.
