Meteors Win Against Ice Dogs
It was a busy game for Atom LL MCR Advanced Collision against BCH on Saturday, December 12. It was a scoreless first period even though Mitchell had quite a few chances to score.
At the beginning of the second period, it was a close call when BCH hit the goal post and half way into the period, Brennen Vanderkuylen had a great save on a break away. Finally, with just over one minute left in the period, Kyle Mills scored, assisted by Ryan Hubbard.
The third period saw 7 more goals for Mitchell and one for BCH. A pass from Andreas Harmer and Logan Nugent set up Logan Ruby for a hard shot from the blue line, scoring the second goal. Mills and Hubbard repeated their previous action by scoring the third goal for Mitchell. Jack Steinbach was set up by Keegan Hunt and Austin Weir to score the next goal by tipping the puck over the goalie's shoulders. With 5 minutes left, Hunt's shot deflected off the goalie's skates, which was picked up by Andreas Harmer who scored. Hubbard scored next for Mitchell, assisted by Jason Mills. Hunt finished off the game by scoring the next 2 goals, with help from Jack Steinbach and Austin Weir. The Meteors played well with many successful passes and set ups in front of the net for a final score of 8-1.
