Ottawa, ON - Game one of the OWHA Peewee girls C playoffs in Ottawa took place last weekend. The VanGerwen Peewees went to the capital city to play their first game Thursday April 4. The Sarnia Sting came out strong and didn't let up. The Mitchell Meteors struggled to get into game speed after a month without opponents to play. The Meteors fell to a 5-0 loss.
But, Friday was a different story. Mitchell was ready.

The VanGerwen Sunlife Peewee girls coached by Richard Boyce are off to the provincials in Ottawa from April 4-7. The girls came out on top of the 5 team round robin with the most points.†
The first game saw Mitchell go head to head with Stratford. In a nail biter, Mitchell was able to take the lead early and kept the lead for most of the game. Rachel Stephan was a back checking force against the strong Stratford squad. Jordyn Elgie fought her way through traffic and made multiple attempts to set up her teammates for scoring opportunities.†
