Halloween Hangover: 15U Reps Suffer Pair Of Losses
The Scotiabank 15U Meteor Reps hit the ice for back-to-back games over Halloween weekend, losing a narrow 2-1 game on the road with Walkerton the afternoon of Oct 31st, before dropping a 6-3 decision at home to South Bruce on Nov 1st.
After a scoreless first period in Teeswater on Sunday afternoon, Walkerton jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second period and never looked back. Bryce Otten tallied the lone Meteor goal on a wraparound in the final period, assisted by Kellen Russwurm.
Back at home the next night, the locals kept it close in the opening period, down 2-1 after 15 minutes of play as Otten scored again, assisted by Bryce Dixon and Jack Van Loon. South Bruce would then score 4 consecutive goals to take a commanding 6-1 lead and never look back. The home team found some life in the final minutes adding a couple of late goals by Carter O'Brien and Charlie Geiger, to finish up at a 6-3 final. Additional assists were recorded by Ryan Hubbard, Zack Siemon-Hergott, Jack Miller, and Van Loon.
