U15 Reps Rebound With Win At Home Over Ice Dogs
After a Feb 25th loss at home to the Saugeen Shores Storm, the Scotiabank U15 Meteor Reps bounced back with a strong effort in a 5-1 win over the visiting BCH Ice Dogs on Feb 28th in WOAA Round Robin Playoff Action.
In Mitchell last night, the Meteors roared out to a commanding 3-0 lead as Charlie Geiger opened the scoring less than two minutes in, knocking in a rebound from a Carter O'Brien shot. Jacob Dietrich would score the next two goals first unassisted, and then on the powerplay three seconds in off the draw won by Ryan Hubbard. BCH would tally a goal in the middle frame to get on the scoreboard, but O'Brien would add two insurance goals to secure the win, with Geiger drawing an assist. Goaltender Porter Smith was steady all game, making several key saves when called upon.
O'Brien scored the only goal unassisted in the previous 3-1 loss to Saugeen Shores.
It's a busy week for the locals with three road games to finish off their WOAA round robin, with trips to BCH, Kincardine, and Saugeen Shores.
