Meteors Tie Listowel As Lockdown Looms
The Scotiabank U15 Meteor Reps skated to a 3-3 tie at home with the Listowel Cyclones on January 3rd, hours away from the next provincial lockdown stage that would once again pause minor hockey play.

The visitors hit the scoreboard first, slipping the puck past goaltender Joel Meinen with just over five minutes remaining in the opening period.
Charlie Geiger would tie the game early in the second period, assisted by Zack Siemon-Hergott and Jack Miller.  Late in the period, Listowel took a 2-1 lead but it didn't last long as less than two minutes later Hayden Nicholson would score unassisted from a near impossible angle in the corner after rushing the puck in from the neutral zone.
Tied 2-2 entering the final period, Miller would score at the halfway point from Jack Van Loon to give the Meteors their first lead of the game.  But it would last less than a minute with Listowel scoring again 30 seconds later to tie the game.
The Meteors were assessed a hooking penalty with 47 seconds remaining in the game to make for an interesting finish, but strong penalty-kill defense and goaltending would preserve the tie.
