Peewee LL fall in Exhibition final
The Mitchell Legion Peewee LL team took on the Lucan Irish in exhibition play in Monkton on Tuesday night and came up short in a 12-5 defeat.

The home side started out strong with a short-handed goal by Bradley Dearing assisted by Ryan Hubbard and Jake Crowley.  Lucan would answer right back with a seeing eye goal that would deflect off two Lucan players into the back of the Mitchell net.  Calum Harris would put the locals ahead 2-1 with a great assist from Wade Campbell.  Lucan would tie it up at 2-2 by the end of the first period with a powerplay marker.

The second period was another story.  The locals would give up 5 goals to the Lucan squad.  Dearing potted his second of the night of a shot that rang off the post from Hubbard set up by a pass from Zack Bilyea. With the score at the end of the 2nd period at 7-3.

At the intermission, Coach Brooks steered the boys in the positive direction and coming out with fast skating on the fresh sheet of ice.  The locals scored two powerplay goals.  First was Hubbard getting his first of the night set up by Jeremy Vandewalle and a minute later Biyea scored the second powerplay goal assisted by Jaxen Hartwig and Colby Ryan.  The local squad would succumb to the relentless pressure from the Lucan Irish and fall 12-5 when the final buzzer sounded.  Special Mention goes to Ethan Dearing for standing tall in net after a 40+ shot game, kept the locals from getting the game out of hand.

The Mitchell Meteor Legion Peewee LL team ended the exhibition season with a record of 1-1 and are looking forward to get the regular season started.
