Tough Loss Against Ice Dogs
The New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE Meteors hosted the BCH Ice Dogs on Monday evening as their WOAA playoffs continued. The evenly matched teams would battle hard for the win, with the game being decided with 0.2 seconds left on the clock. The Meteors would be the first to get on the board after Bryce Otten took a pass from Grayson Yost in the corner to put it past the BCH goalie with a quick shot.
BCH would get one back to even the score with six minutes to play in the second period. Thirty seconds later, Blake Redfern would win a battle against the boards getting the puck to Yost who would nail it top shelf to put the Meteors back in the lead. Mitchell's Jacob Dietrich would then pick up the puck in the neutral zone and fly past the BCH defence to beat the goalie with a high shot to make the score 3-1. In the final minute of the second period, BCH would manage another goal to bring them within one. The third period would see end to end action with both teams getting good chances on net. BCH would manage to tie the game on a power play goal with one minute left to play. The Meteors would get a final rush but would be denied only to have the Ice Dogs make one final push and manage to score a buzzer beater to take the game with a 4-3 score.
