Meteors Fall To Storm
On Sunday evening in Monkton, the New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE Meteors hosted the Saugeen Shores Storm in their final game of the preliminary round of WOAA playoffs. The Meteors were in a must win situation in order to force a tie-breaking game for second place in the league, and a chance to move on to the finals.
The Storm would get a 1-0 lead on a power play goal in the first period. In the second, they would score two more goals, also on the power play. The Meteors would come back with a power play goal of their own in the third period with a two man advantage. Good passing in the offensive end by Preston Porter would allow Jacob Dietrich to fire a hard shot to beat the Storm goalie. In the final minutes of the third, the Meteors would get several good chances on net and with their goalie pulled, they would fight to the final buzzer but the score would remain 3-1 in favour of the Storm.
