PeeWee AE's Eliminated From OMHA Playoffs
On Sunday afternoon the New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE Meteors made the trip to Collingwood to face the Blackhawks in game four of their OMHA Quarter Finals series. With the Blackhawks ahead four points to two in the six point series, the Meteors were in need of a win to extend the series.
The Meteors would hold off the Blackhawks for the first period and most of the second period with strong defensive play and stellar goaltending by Joel Meinen. With one minute left on the clock in the second, the Blackhawks would go on a power play and manage to take a 1-0 lead. Despite some good chances in the third, and perseverance to the final buzzer, the Meteors would be unable to beat the Collingwood goalie. The Blackhawks would manage three more goals in the final frame ensuring their win with a 4-0 final score.
The Meteors will resume their WOAA playoffs Monday night in Mitchell against the BCH Ice Dogs.
