Meteors, Ice Dogs Tie In League Playoff Action
On Saturday afternoon in Hensall, the New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE's would play BCH in their first game of the WOAA Neilson Division League Playoffs. Both teams would come to play in a fast paced and action packed game that would end in a deadlock with two goals scored for each team.

BCH would open the scoring in the first period taking an early lead just three minutes into the game. The Meteors would answer back at the mid-point of the period after a shot toward the net by Noah Mann would get deflected off the stick of Hayden Nicholson and bounce past the Ice Dogs goalie. BCH would again take the lead in the middle of the second period and would manage to hold on to it, setting the stage for an exciting third period.

The Meteors would pound the net with several great chances in the first few minutes of the third period, with Nicholson finally being rewarded with his second goal of the game after passes in the offensive zone by Jack Miller and Charlie Geiger to set up the goal. With the game tied, both teams would dig in looking for the next chance. The Meteors would see several power play opportunities in the third, but would not be able to beat the BCH goalie, sending the game to overtime.

The ten minute OT period would see end to end action, with more chances for the Meteors on the power play. Neither team would be able to capitalize and the game would end in a tie as both goalies locked down their nets shutting down anything that came their way. Meteors goalie Keagan Meinen would stand on his head making several key saves to keep his team in the game.

The Meteors will play Saugeen Shores in Mitchell tomorrow in game 3 of their OMHA Playdown series. The Meteors lead the series with two wins.
