Meteors Edge Ice Dogs
On Friday night, the New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE Meteors traveled to Clinton to face the BCH Ice Dogs. The Meteors would pull ahead early in the game as Ethan Meinen would fire a hard shot and put the Meteors on the board. Preston Porter would get the assist. The Meteors would go up 2-0 after a goal by Porter with just a minute left to play in the period, as he patiently waited to place a perfect shot past a falling goalie. Noah Mann would assist on the goal with a nice pass to Porter in front of the net.
The second period would see BCH get three goals and briefly pull ahead of the Meteors on the scoreboard. The Meteors would come back to tie the game after a hard shot from Blake Redfern on the point would be tipped in by Jack Miller for the goal. Preston Porter would give the Meteors the lead with a beautiful shot to the top corner of the Ice Dog's net, out of the reach of the goalie's glove.
The Meteors would hold on to win the game through a 6 on 4 BCH advantage, as the Meteors faced a penalty and the Ice Dogs pulled their goalie in the final minutes of the game. Goalie Joel Meinen would stand tall with several big saves to give the Meteors the win.
