PeeWee AE's Win, Tie to Open Tillsonburg Tourney
The New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Meteors travelled to Tillsonburg to take part in the Bob Tansley Memorial Tournament on Friday. The team would open with a 4-1 win over the Tillsonburg Tornadoes and later tie 2-2 in a hard fought battle against the Wallaceburg Lakers.

In their first game, Carter O'Brien would score two goals with Bryce Otten and Noah Mann each adding one. Assists in the game would go to six different Meteors, making this game a strong team effort. Jack VanLoon and Jack Miller would each get two assists, with Preston Porter, Hayden Nicholson, Blake Redfern and Jacob Dietrich each adding one. Goalie Joel Meinen stood on his head, always keeping his team in the game and sporting a very hot glove and was awarded the Player of the Game for the Meteors.

In their second game of the day, Meinen's glove would continue to stall the opponent as the Meteors faced a strong Wallaceburg team. With hard battling against the boards and aggressive play, the Meteors would keep themselves in the game but would be down by two after the first period. The battle would continue with no scoring in the second, and in the third the Meteors would mount a comeback. Brock Boville would be in perfect position to find a loose puck in front of the goalie and would lift it up and into the net to get the Meteors on the board. Just one minute later, Grayson Yost would tie the game as he was able to poke in a puck that the goalie thought he had saved, to bring the Meteors to a tie. Good scoring chances would come at each end of the ice in the final minutes, but neither team would come away with the win as the goaltenders locked the game down. Brock Boville would be awarded the Player of the Game for Mitchell.

The Meteors face the Listowel Cyclones in their third game of the tournament tomorrow morning.
