Meteors Defeat Blizzard
The New Orleans PeeWee AE Meteors played a strong game at home on Tuesday evening and overpowered the Huron-Bruce Blizzard with a 5-2 win. Blake Redfern would get the Meteors on the board with a hard shot from the point, over the goalie's shoulder just 42 seconds into the game. Jack Miller would get the assist. The Meteors would not look back, as they controlled the puck for most of the period with multiple scoring chances.

The second period would bring three more goals for the Meteors. The first would come after Lucas Mahon cleared the puck from Mitchell's end, and Bryce Otten would net the puck as he beat a falling goalie after a perfect pass across the slot from Preston Porter. The Blizzard would come back to score a quick one just seconds later. Mahon would make it 3-1 for the home team with a very quick shot after the draw with Noah Mann winning the face-off. The Meteors would get their fourth goal when Grayson Yost would push past the Blizzard defence and find a puck sized space against the post to score. Assisting on his goal were Mann and Jacob Dietrich.

The third period would start with a tough rebound goal against the Meteors and lots of pressure by the Blizzard. Goalie Joel Meinen would come up with several big glove saves to keep the Meteors in the lead. Jacob Dietrich would give Mitchell some extra insurance with an unassisted goal to bring the score to 5-2 and the Meteors would finish strong with the win.

The Meteors head to Tillsonburg for their first tournament of the season on Friday.
