Meteors Take Down Rams
The Legion Branch 128 Pee Wee LL Meteors hosted the Mount Forest Rams on Tuesday evening and were able to come away with a solid win. The first period would see end to end action with no scoring until the Rams would get on the board in the last 35 seconds on a power play goal.
The Meteors would take control in the second period scoring all three of their goals in the middle frame. Preston Porter would be the first to strike with assists going to Logan Nugent and Caleb Kay. Brandon Deitrich and Nolan Vessie would pass the puck up ice to Jeremy Vandewalle who would get a great shot up high to score over the shoulder of the Ram's goalie. The Meteors final goal would come as Blake Redfern would clear the puck from the Meteors end up to Porter who would feed Kay for a break away shot to put the Meteors up 3-1.
The Rams would answer back with one final goal but the Meteors defence led by the strong play of goalie Ethan Dearing would keep them at bay. The Rams would pull their goalie for the final two minutes of the game but would be shut down as the Meteors would hold on for the win.
