Tie, Losses At Young Canada Tournament
The Mitchell Legion Branch 128 Meteors took part in the Young Canada Tournament in Goderich this March break. The Meteors would have a tough day on Friday with two losses to start the tournament against Goderich and Dorchester and would finish with a tie game Saturday morning against Central Perth.

The Meteors would come out strong in their opening game against Goderich with an early goal by Preston Porter after a perfect pass in front of the net by Grayson Yost. Moments later the Meteors would take a 2-0 lead as Yost would knock in a bouncing puck at the corner of the net with assists going to Porter and Jake Crowley. Despite being outplayed in the first period, Goderich would come back strong after scoring a last second goal in the first and would answer with 4 more goals in the second period. The Meteors would bring the score to 5-3 in the final seconds of the middle period with a deflection from Zach Huygen with assists given to Caleb Kay and Sam Huetlin. The Meteors would net one more goal after a scramble in front of the Goderich goalie that Jaxen Hartwig would knock in with Porter and Yost getting assists. Goderich would take the game with a final score of 7-4 after two more third period goals.

The Meteors game against Dorchester would be a tough one with the Dragons coming out strong and gaining a 4-0 lead by the end of the second period. The Meteors would persist, and early in the third period would get one back from the stick of Hartwig with assists going to Kay and Yost. The Dragon's would answer back with two more goals in the third period and would come away with the 6-1 win.

On Saturday morning the Meteors would face Central Perth in their final game of the tournament. The evenly matched teams would finish with a 1-1 tie, with both teams goals being scored in the first period of play. Mitchell's goal would be an unassisted shot from the stick of Yost. The Meteors would work hard to try and get the go ahead goal with good forechecking being shown by Nolan Vessie and Logan Nugent. The defense for both teams would prove to be unbeatable in the last two periods. Meteors goalie Ethan Dearing would have a hot glove and with the help of his defensive squad of  Yost, Jack Steinbach, Blake Redfern and Liam Brodhagen, the Predators offence would be shut down and the game would end in a tie.
