Mitchell Meteor Bantam LL earns tie in first exhibition game
The Mitchell Meteors Bantam LL team opened their season Saturday night, traveling to Tavistock to play the Titans in an exhibition game.

Mitchell came out a little slow and paid for it early as Tavistock scored the first goal of the game just barely two minutes in.  The Meteors slowly built from there though and by the end of the first was dominating play in the Tavistock end for long stretches of time.  Despite the advantage in offensive zone time Mitchell was unable to get the equalizer before the end of the 1st period.

The second period continued on with Mitchell taking the play to Tavistock.  Braden McLean and Basil Voros both had a couple of excellent chances down low but were unable to capitalize.  In the other end despite relatively few shots Wade Monden made some big saves for the Meteors when needed.

The Meteors continued to press to start the third period and were finally rewarded just over a minute in, when Will Steinback scored an unassisted goal.  Will fired the puck from the corner and managed to bank it in off the Titan’s goalie.  Mitchell continued to take the play to Tavistock but could not get another one by a very solid Tavistock defence to finish the game in a 1-1 tie.
