The Scotia Bank Mitchell Meteors Bantam LL team split a pair of games this past week.
The Meteors opened the week Sunday night in
Mount Forest with a 7-1 loss to a very strong Mount Forest Rams. The Meteors only goal was scored by Brett
Poirier and assisted by Basil Voros.
The Meteors hosted the South Bruce Blades Tuesday night and earned a 6-1 victory. Josh Duncan opened the scoring 5 minutes into the first period. Evan McArthur from Brett Poirier and Basil Voros from Braeden McLean also scored for the Meteors in the first period.
Mitchell potted two more goals to start the second period to go up 5-0. Duncan scored his second of the game at the 10 minute mark assisted by Coulter Rolph. Denzel Finlayson scored his first of the season a minute later. Then Blades would score their lone goal at the 8 minute mark of the second period, to make in 5-1 going into the third.
Duncan completed the hat trick half way through third from Rolph and Will Steinbach to complete the scoring.
Wade Monden and Austin Weir split the game in net for the win.
