Scotia Bank Mitchell Meteors Bantam LL Dairy split a pair of playoff games this past week.
Scotia Bank Mitchell Meteors Bantam LL Dairy split a pair of playoff games this past week. The Meteors opened the week Friday night in Goderich.   Goderich got off to a quick start with a goal in the first minute of the game.  The Sailors extended their lead to 2 with 5 minutes left in the 1st period.  Dominic Voros was able to get Mitchell on the board before the period ended with an unassisted goal at the 1:34 mark.

That goal seemed to light a fire under the Meteors as they scored 3 more goals early in 2nd period.  Joey Adam scored the first goal of the period just over 3 minutes in with assists to Evan McArther and Voros.  Josh Duncan scored again for the Meteors just under a minute late from PJ Marshall and Voros again.  Jaden Faulkner finished Mitchell’s scoring with a goal at the 8 minute mark from Voros for his 4th point of the game.  Goderich would score once more with just under a minute left in the second period, but that was as close as it got as Wade Monden in net for Mitchell shut the door the rest of the way for the 4-2 win.

Mitchell travelled to Mount Forest Saturday afternoon to play the Rams.  Coulter Rolph opened the scoring for the Meteors with just 30 seconds left in the first period on a breakaway goal.  Basil Voros made a nice pass to set him free up the middle.  The Rams tied the score early in the 2nd and took the lead with a goal with 2 minutes left in the period.   Mount Forest made it a 2 goal game early in the third, but Mitchell fought back to make it a 1 goal game just a minute later on an unassisted goal by Josh Duncan.  The Meteors kept the pressure on but it was the Rams who were able to put the game away with a goal with 3 minutes left in the game.
