Novice Girls Edged By Lambeth To Close Out Regular Season
The Dodge Caravan Kids Meteor Novice Girls finished off their regular season on January 27th, dropping a 2-1 decision to the visiting Lambeth Lancers in Monkton.
Only one goal per period was scored, with Lambeth opening the scoring midway through the first period on an unassisted breakaway, and adding the winning goal early in the third also on a breakaway.
Ava Harmer was Mitchell's lone goal scorer, set up on a breakaway by Macie Russwurm.
The locals will now enter a four-team double round robin format playoff with Stratford, St Mary's, and South Huron to determine which two teams will qualify to attend the Provincials in Toronto on April 6-8th. Good luck girls!
