Novice Girls Finish Runner-Up in League Final
The Dodge Caravan Kids finished as WOGHL league playoff runner-ups for Novice 'C' Division I last night, falling 4-1 in Aylmer to the St Thomas Panthers.
St Thomas came out strong, building a quick 2-0 lead in the first and continuing to display strong goaltending. The Meteors got on the board late in the first as Ava Harmer finished off a breakaway, set up by Abigayle Van Bakel and Kayla Visneskie. After a strong scoreless second period where the Meteors looked to be outplaying the Panthers, they ran out of steam in the final frame allowing two more goals against to finish up as a 4-1 final.
The locals will now practice and/or play exhibition games leading up to the Provincials in Toronto on April 6-8th, opening with round robin action vs Clarence Rockland Lightning at 8:15pm on the Friday.
