Novice Girls Win, Lose in WOGHL Playoff Action
The Dodge Caravan Kids Meteor Novice Girls recorded a win and a loss over the weekend, narrowly edging Lambeth 2-1 on the road on March 10th, followed by dropping a 7-0 decision in St. Thomas to the host Panthers on March 11th.
In Lambeth, Ava Harmer's goal assisted by Abigayle Van Bakel with 1:24 remaining in the second period stood as the winner as the Meteors held off a third period charge by the home team for a 2-1 victory. Van Bakel added the other goal in the first to open the scoring, assisted by Kayla Visneskie.
With back-to-back road games clearly not working to their advantage, the Meteors were blasted 7-0 in St. Thomas the following afternoon.
Next action for the girls is hosting Lambeth in Mitchell on Friday March 16th at 6:50pm.
