Novice Girls HL Remain Undefeated in Playoff Round
The Mitchell Dodge Grand Caravan Meteors Novice Girls HL team improved to 4-0-1 in playoff round robin action on Feb 26th, downing the visiting St Thomas Panthers HL squad 6-0 in Monkton.
Maren Marshall opened the scoring midway through the opening frame on an end-to-end rush, assisted by Abigayle Van Bakel who would add her own marker a minute later on a breakaway to build a 2-0 lead after one. Van Bakel would notch her second of the game early in the second set up by Tegan Mace. Less than a minute later Mace knocked in a rebound, and earned her second assist of the game with Van Bakel completing the hat trick moments later. Addy Wolfe found the back of the net from Van Bakel in the third period to round out the scoring. Haileigh Templeman earned the shutout in goal for the Meteors.
The round robin playoff schedule finishes up in St Thomas on Sat Mar 5th, with the top two teams squaring off in the Division IV final.
