Novice Girls HL Notch Pair of Playoff Victories
The Mitchell Dodge Grand Caravan Meteors Novice Girls HL team moved to a season-high eight game unbeaten streak with a pair of round robin playoff wins on the weekend.

The girls travelled to Tillsonburg on Feb 18th to tangle with the Lightning, returning home with a 5-2 victory.  Defenseman Maren Marshall had a strong game on both sides of the puck for the Meteors, notching two goals and playing solid defense.  Abigayle Van Bakel continued her torrid scoring pace with a hat trick to round out the scoring.  Haileigh Templeman had two assists, with a single helper going to Tegan Mace.
On Feb 19th the locals played host to the Huron Heat, looking to avenge Friday night's tie where they had given up a two-goal lead in the third.  The girls started off strong, building a 3-0 lead early into the third period on two goals by Van Bakel and a single marker by Mace.  Assists were recorded by Marshall, Van Bakel, Macie Russwurm, and Addy Wolfe.  Things looked about to repeat themselves from Friday night, as the Heat rebounded back with two quick goals midway through the final period.  But steady defense and goaltending by Ellie MacArthur salvaged the 3-2 win.  Next up for the goals is a home-and-home vs the St Thomas Panthers beginning on Feb 26th in Mitchell to complete the round robin playoff action.
