Novice Girls HL Edge Tillsonburg In Opening Playoff Action
The Mitchell Dodge Grand Caravan Meteors Novice Girls HL team hosted the Tillsonburg Lightning HL team in Monkton on Feb 11th in opening WOGHL round robin playoffs. Both squads competed very evenly all game, with the locals coming out on top by a final score of 2-1.
Haileigh Templeman and Alayna McKay each scored unassisted goals in the first period to pace the Meteors to a 2-0 lead. Tillsonburg answered back on a breakaway goal midway through the second period, but that was all the offense they could muster against a shorthanded defense of Maren Marshall, Addy Wolfe, and Grace Bach. The girls resume playoff action on Fri Feb 17th in Seaforth at 630pm vs The Huron Heat.
