A busy past weekend of hockey!

This past weekend proved to be a busy weekend for the girls with 3 away games played in 4 days.

The first game played Thursday night in Blyth was a close one against the Huron Heat and resulted in the girls winning 3-1. All 3 goals were unassisted with Abigayle scoring 2 goals and Haileigh scoring a goal. This was a close game with the girls continuing to skate and move the puck well.

On Friday the team travelled to Alymer and were narrowly defeated 5-4. A hat trick was scored by the speedy Abigayle with Macie also netting a goal. Assists went to Grace and Alayna. The defencemen protected their goalie and the forwards had several rushes but unfortunately could not find the back of the net one more time. It was a game well played by all the teams players.

On Sunday the team headed out on the road again all the way to Sarnia to play the Lady Sting. The girls all skated well with Grace standing tall in net against several shots and a couple of breakaways. The girls all kept their heads in the game but unfortunately came up short. Each however came out of the dressing room smiling! Of special note was the kindness shown to our players by one of the refs. This ref continued to encourage our girls and goalie throughout the game. This high level of sportsmanship displayed and dedication to the encouragement of all young team players is one of the greatest skills and life lessons that our children can take away from this game of hockey. What a great example!
