Pee Wee AE’s take 2 of 3 in action this past week
The New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Mitchell Meteors started the week with a 3-1 loss Monday night at home to the Kincardine Kinucks.  The Meteors came out sloppy after a devastating last second loss the day before in the semi-finals of the Mitchell Pee Wee Tournament, and were never able to get it going.  Mitchell’s lone goal came on an unassisted goal by PJ Marshall while on a 5 on 3 penalty kill.

The New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Mitchell Meteors rebounded at the end of the week starting with a 7-1 win against the BCH Ice Dogs at home on Friday night.

The Meteors opened the scoring early in the first on a goal by Andrew Van Bakel from Andreas Harmer and PJ Marshall.  BCH tied it up halfway through the first period but that was as close as it would get.  Mitchell took the lead for good with just under a minute left in the first on a goal by Joey Adam assisted by Kaeden Meinen.  The Meteors poured in on from there, Adam notched a second goal, Marshall added two goals and another assist, and Jamie Feltz added 2 more goals.  Harmer earned 2 more assists for a 3 point night, Meinen added a second assist, Xavier Lorenz had 2 assists, and Van Bakel and Cole Harmer each added an assist.  Kody Eisler earned the win in net.

Saturday afternoon saw the New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Mitchell Meteors in action against the Zurich Thunder Rep team.    Mitchell topped the Thunder 2-1.  Zurich had been undefeated in league play until then.  Xavier Lorenz opened the scoring for the Meteors when he knocked in a rebound halfway through the second period assists went to PJ Marshall and Jamie Feltz.  Mitchell widened the lead to 2 with just over a minute left in the second on a goal by Joey Adam with assists to Cole Hannon and Evan O’Rourke.  The Thunder came out flying to start the third and managed to score just 30 seconds in.   Zurich kept the pressure up throughout the third but could not get another puck by Kody Eisler who had an excellent game in net for the Meteors.  The defence of Damen Roobroeck, Kaeden Meinen, O’Rourke and Andrew Van Bakel played well in front of Eisler.
