Pee Wee AE’s advance past Listowel
The New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Mitchell Meteors won their first round playoff series against the Listowel Cyclones, taking the series 3-2 with a 3-1 home ice victory Saturday night in Mitchell.

All five games were tight back and forth games with the 3-1 win being the largest margin of victory in any of the games.

Game 3 was Wednesday night in Mitchell.  The New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Mitchell Meteors won the game 2-0 on goals from Logan Ruby and Cole Hannon.    Ruby opened the scoring with 4 minutes left in the second period with assists from Jamie Feltz and Xavier Lorenz.  It was Ruby’s first goal of the year.  Hannon add the insurance marker 2 minutes into the 3 with assists from Joey Adam and Andrew Van Bakel.  That would be all the Meteors would need as Kody Eisler earned the shut-out for the win.

Game 4 was Friday night in Listowel.  The New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Mitchell Meteors fell to the Cyclones 3-2 in overtime.    Joey Adam opened the scoring for the Meteors at the 9 minute mark of the second period with an assist from Cole Hannon.  Mitchell had the game well in hand through the first 2 periods, but a 2 minute lapse at the beginning of the third period where the Listowel Cyclones scored 2 goals to take a 2-1 lead.  The Meteors would fight back with PJ Marshall scoring the tying goal unassisted with 5 minutes left in the third.  The game would go into overtime.  The Cyclones would score the winner 3 minutes into the overtime period to even the series at 2.

The deciding game 5 was played Saturday night in Mitchell.    The Cyclones opened the scoring 6 minutes into the first period.  There would be no more scoring until 3 minutes into the third period when Joey Adam would tie the game with an assist from Andrew Van Bakel.  The Meteors would take the lead just a minute late on a goal from Jamie Feltz assisted by PJ Marshall.    Both teams would exchange chances until the Meteors were able to get an insurance goal by Joey Adam, his second of the game from Cole Hannon.
