The New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Mitchell Meteors opened
their playoff season with a big 1-0 win over the Listowel Cyclones Friday night
in Mitchell.
Cole Hannon scored the only goal that Mitchell would need two minutes into the first period with assists to Xavier Lorenz and Joey Adam. The Meteors continued to take the play to Listowel throughout the first two periods but couldn’t get another past the Listowel goaltender.
Listowel came roaring out of the dressing room for the third period and carried the play through most of the period but couldn’t get one past Kody Eisler who earned the shut out for the home team.
The New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE Mitchell Meteors travelled to Listowel Sunday afternoon for the second game of their play off series. Listowel would get revenge with a 2-1.
After a scoreless first period, Listowel notched a couple of goals in the second to go up 2-0.
The Meteors fought back in the third and after several good chances Damen Roobroeck finally netted one for Mitchell unassisted. Mitchell kept the pressure on but could not get the equalizer. Brennan Vander Kuylen played great for Mitchell in net despite the loss.
