Pee Wee AEs split pair of games on weekend
The Mitchell Meteors Pee Wee AE team welcomed the Zurich Thunder Rep team to Mitchell Friday night for the second game of the their young season.

The Thunder would prove to be too much for the Meteors on this night beating Mitchell 6-1.  The lone Mitchell goal game early in the third period, PJ Marshall scored on a nice passing play from Joe Adams.

Despite the loss strong performances were put in by Andreas Harmer, Caleb Kay and Xavier Lorenz.

The Mitchell Meteors Pee Wee AE played their second game of the weekend Saturday afternoon against the Listowel Cyclones in Listowel.

Mitchell and Listowel were evenly matched and played a tight game with the visiting Meteors coming away with a well deserved 3-2 win.

After a scoreless first period Damen Roobroeck opened the scoring for Mitchell with just over 2 minutes left in the second period.  Joe Adam earned the assist on the goal.  Mitchell would make it a two goal lead early in the third when Adam scored his first of the year with an assist going to PJ Marshall.

The Cyclones came storming back though with 2 goals in the next two minutes to tie the game.  The two teams battled hard each team with some excellent scoring chances, but both goalies managed to keep the score tied.  It stayed that way until with 3 ½ minutes left in the game when Joe Adam scored his second of the game on a pass from Marshall to give the Meteors the lead.

The Cyclones came on hard after that, pulling their goalie with a minute left and Mitchell with a player in the box but Brennan Vanderkuylen in net managed to hold them off with help from his defence of Logan Ruby, Jack Steinback, Damen Roobroeck and Evan O’Rourke.
