Your Neighborhood Credit Union Atom Rep boys avenge Silver Stick loss but start slow in exhibition tie.
The YNCU reps fell in the first round of Silver Stick playoffs to the Storm but one week later would travel to Saugeen Shores and prove that with an evenly called game the teams are very well matched. Then after a week of heavy snow and a much deserved day of rest while school was postponed, the boys toured south to a slow start against an unfamiliar opponent but recouped leaving Parkhill in a tie.

While articulated words and a report with composure could not be assembled by this writer as a result of the Silver Stick playoff game in which our Atom Rep boys fell to the Saugeen Shores Storm, a game with much more composure within itself was held just a week later. The boys would get their "rematch" and with an even tilt the Atoms would manage a strong game and end up on top of the very even matchup. AP player Jack Miller would open the scoring in the first period for Mitchell as he would net from in front while Caleb Templeman and Vincent Voros would facilitate the chance with puck battles along the boards and behind the net respectively. Voros would add the second marker midway through period 2 as he drove in for an unassisted goal. The Storm would not be out matched as they came back late through the 2nd to leave the score tied after two. Josh French would be the difference for Mitchell in the third as he would take a lead back for the Meteors with assist from James McCarthy and would get just enough of a tip off Rhett Terpstra's slap shot to redirect the puck past the Shores netminder as he was positioned to make the stop on the low hard bullet. Defense was key as not just the blue line squad kept Mitchell in the game but every player on every shift did their part to keep Saugeen's chances limited. The 4-2 final was a good boost back from the previous bout that left the boys and fans with more than a few officiating questions.

With a week of relentless snow Friday would give an opening for the Your Neighborhood Credit Union Atoms to head south and face the North Middlesex Jr Stars. The boys would start strong but were fumbling to connect passes and would slow as the first wore on. This left the Stars able to pick off the boys and net two past goalie Hayden Beuermann in the first. A regroup at the first intermission and some enlightening words from coaches would see a resurgence from the Meteors as AP players Ryan Hubbard and

Noah Mann would each score in the second period bringing the third period to be the decision maker. Strong chances at both ends of the sheet of ice weren't enough to get a goal as both goalies stepped up to try and do their part for the team. The 2-2 tie result was well earned by both teams. The YNCU reps will face Hanover next as they begin a busy week heading into the holiday season.
