Your Neighborhood Credit Union Atom Rep boys pick up the first 4 points of their series against Goderich.
Playoffs have begun for the YNCU atoms and it's been a great start so far as the boys have taken the first 4 points in the 6 point OMHA series. Puck control and heads up hockey have been the star so far as the chances have been weighted the Meteors way.

That's not to say that Goderich hasn't had chances of their own but our boys have played hard each and every shift to minimize the Sailors opportunities. Game 1 in Goderich saw the YNCU Meteors take a two goal lead after the first 2 periods, Lucas Roobroeck scoring to open up for the boys halfway in the 2nd and James McCarthy adding the next just 3 minutes later. The Sailors would pull back to just one goal early in the third but with a nice lead pass from Brock Boville, Vincent Voros would grab back the two goal margin. Goderich would surge and pin the boys to their zone for a time as durring one play Goalie Hayden Beuermann would loose his stick to the corner. But with quick thinking Defender Caleb Templeman passed his stick to Beuermann who would need the lumber for the very next save. Beuermann was quoted after saying "it's a good thing Caleb told me to take his darn stick. I owe him one!" The Sailors would again pull within one but as they pushed hard at the end with their goalie pulled and six skaters Voros would find a seam and cut in to burry the empty netter. The 4-2 final gave the boys a boosted step and the first 2 points of the series.

Game 2 "at home" in Monkton would see much of the same as the Your Neighborhood Credit Union Atom Rep boys would out chance the Sailors again this time taking a very early lead as Jack Small would score just 30 seconds into the match with a Voros assist.  Winger Josh French would add in the second period facilitated again by Voros. As the third started though it seemed that the boys might be satisfied with the two goal lead as Goderich upped the ante and surged midway in the last frame. It would pay off as they were able to score and reduce the deficit to one but Roobroeck playing Wing filling in for the missing Boville would score on a McCarthy pass. That would be the final as Mitchell added another 2 points to the series with a 3-1 finish. The boys will face the Goderich Sailors again Wednesday night at home. Keep up the hard works fellas!
