Your Neighborhood Credit Union Atom Rep play two strong games to open Silver Stick, looking to move on as they face Saugeen Shores today.
The boys won big Monday night against BCH then played a strong game against Hanover, scoring first and holding the lead for part of second & third period but dropping a late goal. Despite the loss it left Mitchell mid pack to enter play downs Saturday.

The BCH Ice Dogs would hit the ice strong and hold the Meteors scoreless through the 1st period but the boys opened the gates in the 2nd as both Vincent Voros and Brock Boville would score multiples with James McCarthy and Jack Small adding helpers to the campaign. Rhett Terpstra would also add an assist to Voros in a 3rd period goal and Jarrett VanBakel would close with the last goal in the game. The 8-0 win would be helpful as the boys moved forward as GF% was a factor in determining their seeded position. The game was defended well as Caleb Templeman has moved back to the D line while Roobs is out. Kellen Russworm and Daniel Ogilvie also had strong games clearing pucks and setting up many of Mitchell's rushes to the Ice Dogs net.

A late game Tuesday night against the Hanover Falcons would keep fans of both sides on the edge of their seats. With a scoreless first the boys would see their first lead against Hanover this year leaving the second period up two goals. The Falcons would strike back but Mitchell would find a way to regain the 2 goal lead. However as the 3rd period wore on the YNCU reps would find themselves in some trouble as Hanover would tie up with 5 min left in the game and would take a lead with 1 minute left. The boys would push hard and Hanover would have to take penalties just to hold off the Meteors. The 6-5 loss would leave Mitchell with just two points but would seed 4th moving into Saturday's playoffs. Good luck boys.
