A tough week for Your Neighborhood Credit Union boys with home win followed by road stomp.
The Atom Rep boys were able to hold off Goderich and score late to get the week night win but all was not well Saturday as Hanover controlled all of Mitchell's weapons and handed the boys a wicked blow.

Thursday night brought the Sailors inland to Mitchell and the Reps looked ready to rock as Vincent Voros scored on an early first period break away for the early lead. Kyle Mills would add a couple minutes later as Lucas Roobroeck and Voros added assists. Great defense from Kellen Russworm and fast back checking by Caleb Templeman helped keep Goderich at bay through the rest of the first. The second period brought a resurgence from the beach boys as they were able to net two past the YNCU reps and square up the game. Things would remain tight throughout the second and for most of the third until Voros was able to weave the Goderich defence and open up for a pass from Brock Boville to blast a goal which would hold as the winner. Rhett Terpstra was able to add a helper for the winning score as well. With a 3-2 final over the Sailors it left the boys with the winning feel but a little uneasy scare for a game that close.

Saturday was a trip to Hanover to meet the Falcons for the first time this season. With good records for both teams so far it was bound for a great tilt. The first was a seesaw as the two traded chance after chance but something seemed off as time wore off the period. With just 26 seconds left Hanover pryed open the flood gates to get the lead before leaving the 1st period. The Falcons would continue in the second adding to the lead as they netted two more. With a gleam of a turn around for Mitchell Jarrett VanBakel was able to thread the needle and score an unassisted goal to put the game back within 2. Unfortunately the 3rd brought more of the same for Hanover as the controlled play and scored three more to cap off their win. It left the YNCU rep boys with a 6-1 loss but it also left a memory that won't soon be forgotten. The two teams meet next in the round robin of Wingham Silver Stick, it's sure to be a game worth the price of admission!
