Meteors Are On Fire!
The last two games have been tough, but not too tough for the Dodge Caravan Kids.  On Thursday the Meteors headed to the shores of Lake Huron to face off against the Goderich Sailors. After two seemingly long periods with a stern referee, neither team managed to score any goals.

However, once the third period was under way, Carson B. used his agility and finesse, to weave his way through a maze of opponents and send the puck high into the Sailor's net.  Zach S. solidified the lead with just four minutes left in the period with another one of his famous wrist shots.  The final minutes of the game were tense as the Sailors brought up a storm of attacks.  They managed to steal one goal however it wasn't enough as the Meteors held on to finish the game 2-1.  After the game so many people commented on how well everyone played.  It was likely the Meteor's best game yet....Until Saturday's game that is...
Saturday rolled around and the Goderich Sailors came to Monkton to take a second chance to top the Mitchell Meteors.  Once again, it took a while but finally the Meteors took the lead as Zach S. sent another great wrist shot into the net.  He did it again later in the third period after a scramble in front of the net. The Meteors were able to hang on and finish the game at 2-0.  Each player is to be commended for their essential contribution to the success of these two games including the defensemen such as Nate U. There were several occasions when the Sailors' forwards were able to take advantage of the puck trickling into the neutral zone and start to rush toward the Meteor net.  Yet thanks to Nate's timely and fast reaction, he was able to out skate and steal the puck from the Sailors' control.  Way to go Nate and all of the  Meteor defensemen.
The Caravan Kids still have one more important game in this playoff round.  On Thursday, they will be up against the BCH Icedogs as a rematch for the game that was cancelled a few weeks ago.  If the Meteors continue playing the way they have been for the last three games, they are sure to come out on top.
