Tough Start to the WOAA Finals
The Dodge Caravan Kids played very well on Sunday against the Hanover Falcons however they were not able to sustain their 2-0 lead going into the third period.
The first two periods went very well for the Meteors as each player brought out their best game. Landon V. strategically scored one goal in the first and one in the second while Carter M. confidently defended the net. Other players kept pressuring and overpowering the Falcons to keep the puck in the Hanover zone. Charlie W. was especially on fire with his speed and strength as he relentlessly stole the puck from his opponents and skillfully maneuvered it past the Falcons to create several scoring opportunities. He is clearly a force to be reckoned with.
Once the third period rolled around, the Meteors continued to play very well however the Hanover Falcons jumped on three separate opportunistic moments creating three dangerous breakaways resulting in three goals. The last one occurring with just 30 seconds remaining in the game. Needless to say this was a heart-breaker for the Meteors however there is no doubt that they have the ability to win the next two games in the best of three series. Come on over to Hanover on Saturday at 2:00 to cheer on the Meteors so that they can keep the series alive and bring game three back to the Mitchell arena at 12:00 on Sunday.
