Caravan Kids Win the North Middlesex March Break Tournament
The Dodge Caravan Kids had a very successful showing at the North Middlesex March Break Tournament this past weekend in Parkhill. Three straight wins sent the Meteors directly to the Final match against the Harrow Rams.
In the tournament final, the Meteors played a strong consistent game and spread their goals out evenly by scoring twice during each period. The Meteors kept pressing the Rams the entire game and would not let up. With less than a minute in the game, Austin J. took a perfect pass from Owen. B. and broke away towards the net. With a deke to the left, right and left again, Austin outmaneuvered the Ram's goalie and sent one straight into the net as he crashed and slid into the back boards. Austin called it his 'pretty goal'. Carter M. played well under pressure by stopping every shot that came his way to end the game with a score of 6-0.
Every player is to be commended for their fine sportsmanship and excellent play throughout the tournament including Ben H. who demonstrated strong passing skills and confidently scored a goal with a one-timer wrist shot. Jake R. scored an impressive four goals during game two. Colby F. found his groove with powerful cannon-like shots from just inside the blue line. One of which went directly into the net while several others were rebounded providing the forwards with excellent scoring opportunities. Owen B.'s keen sense of the game enabled him to score four goals and also set up several scoring opportunities with timely and precise passing to take advantage of open teammates. He is truly a great play-maker.
The Caravan Kids should be confident and ready for their final games against the Hanover Falcons later this month.
