Caravan Kids 16-0-0 in League Games
It was a weekend filled with hockey for the Dodge Caravan Kids as they competed in the Tyler Lopers Novice L.L. Memorial Tournament in Drayton on Saturday and then ended their regular season with a game against Wingham on Sunday.

Saturday morning started off with one of the most interesting games of the season as the Meteors took on the Wellington 12 team.  Despite the bumps'n bruises, penalty shots, thrown sticks, slashes, cross-checks and unmatched socks inflicted by the opponents, the Meteors finished the game with a winning score of 10-2.  The line including Landon V., Owen B. and Austin J. was hot during this game as together they were responsible for 6 of the 10 goals including 4 by Landon V..   While Zach S., Rogan C., and Carson B. were responsible for the other 4 goals.
To the overwhelming frustration of the Wellington 11 team and staff, the second game brought out the best in many Meteor players as they executed the plays they learned during practices.  With the effective support of the defencemen, forwards Jackson K. Charlie W., Landon V., Owen B., Rogan C., Jake R. and Austin J. each scored at least once to end the game at 11-0.  Special mention must be given to the surge of confident play by Jake R. as he made five goals including three during one shift...Yes that's right, three in one shift.
After a game of bowling to pass the time, the Caravan Kids were ready to enter the A Tournament Finals against the Beverly Bandits Saturday evening.  Despite great efforts by all, including two goals by Owen B. and Rogan C., the Bandits stole the A Tournament title with a final score of 4-2.  Nevertheless, the Caravan Kids were proud to walk away with a silver medal around their necks.  Special mention must be given to Zach S. who demonstrated very hard work and determination making several dives to take the puck away from the opponents.  His energy was a great example for all players.
With only one nights sleep to recuperate, the Meteors headed off to Wingham to complete their regular season games.  Once again, with the dependable defensive play by Colby F., Nate U., Lucas B. and Isaak S., Carter M. pulled off another shut out; one of 13 shut outs this season.  The Caravan Kids await the play-off schedule with a regular season league record of 16-0-0.  Way to go boys! You are a great team of hockey players with an excellent coaching staff.
